Often in the brands there was a significant jump between the “normal” models and the high-performance models of their range. This created an unattended area, that of the client who was looking for a sporty touch in his car without having to pay a high price or to assume high costs of consumption or maintenance.
Fortunately, manufacturers have realized this and, increasingly, add versions of such features to their offer. In the case of Ford, this philosophy has crystallized in the form of the new ST-Line, which was born under the protection of the advances achieved by the Ford Performance family .
In the words of Roelant De Waard, vice president of Marketing, Sales and Service of Ford Europe: “With our new ST-Line range, even more users can enjoy the sporty style and driving dynamics inspired by our most exciting range of Ford Performance up to the date, which includes models such as the Focus RS, the new Fiesta ST200 and the supercar Ford GT. “
At its launch it will be available for four models: Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo and Kuga. Juan Jiménez, responsible for production and sales of compact and SUV of Ford Iberia, said in the presentation that this line seeks to reach the customer who wants a sporty image, with a powerful but efficient engine and, this is important because every time it is more secondary in the industry, do not choose your car out of necessity, but because you like it.
The ST-Line adds an exterior body kit that includes (vary depending on the model) elements such as a front grill in the shape of honeycomb, specific bumpers, exclusive design rims of various sizes, stirrups and, inside, sports seats, steering wheel leather and ST-Line gear lever.
The mechanical offer includes various options of gasoline and diesel for each model. The Fiesta is available with blocks between 95 and 140 HP, the Focus range from 125 to 182 HP, the Mondeo range from 150 to 240 HP and the Kuga between 150 and 180 HP.
Depending on the model, they can be combined with manual or automatic gearboxes, as well as with front or total traction. What is common to all of them is the sports suspension lowered by 10 mm.
Prices start at 17,225 euros for the Fiesta, 21,825 for the Focus, 23,950 for the Mondeo and 29,750 euros for the Kuga. Orders can now be placed.
